My New Hobby Is Too Much Adulting

So I started this knitting thing because everyone keeps telling me how relaxing it is, but I'm finding that when I sit down to do it, I end up spending hours on Pinterest figuring out different patterns and yarn types. It's like suddenly every scarf I see inspires a new project... But then there are days when all the adult stuff creeps in, bills and work emails and thinking about retirement savings, and before you know it, my knitting needles haven't even touched each other in weeks. Plus, my hands get so sore from holding them right that I have to take breaks every half hour, which feels like a really long time when you're working on something intricate... but then again, there are some days where all I want is to curl up and work away on something pretty. Do any of you ever feel this way about adult hobbies?
