My Teens' Nightly Routine

I admit it, I peek into my teens’ room most nights to check if they’re really reading instead of browsing social media. It’s a weird habit, and I know it sounds like helicopter parenting, but seeing them with their noses in books gives me this strange sense of calm. Plus, it feels like one less thing for me to worry about, you know? But then I start wondering why I feel better when they’re reading and not when they just tell me they are. Am I really that distrustful?
