I Told My Boss That Their Idea Was Terrible On Day One

So I just started at this new job today, and let me tell you, it's been a whirlwind. First day nerves are real, but I thought everything was going smoothly until we had our first big meeting. The boss presented an idea that seemed half-baked and completely impractical from the get-go. You know how some people feel like they have to wait before speaking up? Well, not me. I'm all about being upfront and honest. So there I am, in this awkwardly quiet moment after the presentation, and I blurt out my thoughts: 'I think we should probably take a closer look at this idea before moving forward. There are some serious flaws here.' The room fell silent for what felt like an eternity. Everyone was looking between me and the boss, who by now had that pinched expression you get when someone's raining on your parade. And then, as if to make things worse, I just kept going: 'I mean, no offense, but there are better ways to tackle this problem. We need a solid foundation before we start building.' To be honest, I felt pretty good about it at the time. Sure, my boss looked like they might punch me through their computer screen, but sometimes you just can't keep quiet when something's not right.
