Why Did I Buy This?

I bought this really weird and expensive piece of furniture because I thought it would solve some space issues in my apartment, but honestly, now that it's there, it just looks odd. Why did I let an idea overwhelm me so much when all I needed was to keep things organized with basic solutions like shelves or bins? Am I the only one who overcomplicates stuff for no reason sometimes?
