Why Did I Give Up My Spot?

So here's something that's been bugging me for a while. When we were kids, my family had this big tradition on Sundays, watching the Sunday night movie marathon at home. We’d pick out five movies and just stay up late into the next morning. It was such a great way to start the week with everyone together before heading back to school or work. But then something happened last year that really threw me off balance. You see, my baby sister started dating this guy named Timmy, who she’s crazy about. They’re always texting and calling each other all day long, but for some reason, Timmy never joins us on movie nights at home. Instead, he gets picked up by his parents to watch movies in their house every week. Now here’s where it starts getting complicated. My mom noticed that Timmy isn’t joining us and offered him a spot one Sunday when we had space. I was really excited because I love seeing everyone together and thought it would be fun having another person around for the marathon. But guess what? When my sister got the news, she kind of freaked out. She said it would ruin their special time and that they have to spend every moment alone together. So here’s where I did something that still makes me feel pretty guilty. Instead of arguing with her or telling Mom about how important this tradition is for me too (which is kind of selfish, I know), I gave up my spot so she could keep it special just for her and Timmy. And you know what? Every week after that, they’d spend Sunday night at home alone while the rest of us watched movies without them. It’s been almost a year now, and I haven’t talked about how this affects me because it feels like I’m complaining or being selfish. But honestly, it doesn’t feel right to keep my feelings bottled up anymore. Am I overthinking this? Is giving up something you enjoy so much just because someone else wants it that way normal? Should I talk to my sister and mom about how I feel, or will they think I’m being unreasonable? Sometimes I wonder if I should start my own movie nights on a different day with friends instead. But then again, those aren’t the same as family time. So yeah, that’s where things stand right now. Any advice on what to do would be super helpful.
