The Great Laundry Rebellion of '23

So here’s the thing. My teens decided that doing laundry is too basic for them and they’d rather let their clothes pile up in a massive, smelly heap under their beds than learn how to use a washing machine. I mean, seriously, who has time to fold socks when you’re trying to perfect your TikTok dance moves or catch up on another season of some show with way too many characters? They’ve got all the excuses ready, "I ran out of clean clothes," "I forgot," and my personal favorite, "But it’s laundry day! Why do I have to do it today?" As if they didn’t just spend a solid hour scrolling through Instagram during the exact time they could have done their chores. I swear, if I’m not careful, we’ll be overrun by socks that resemble small animals trying to escape from under the bed and shirts that smell like old gym shorts. And don’t even get me started on my attempts to convince them it’s an actual skill for adult life, they just roll their eyes and say stuff like, "There are laundry machines at laundromats, Mom!" Sigh.
