My Artistic Flaw

I hate to admit it, but I've been caught telling a small fib about my artwork. When the local gallery asked me for my 'best piece' for an exhibition, I couldn't bring myself to pick anything from my recent series of abstracts that aren't particularly well-received by critics or the general public. So, I dug deep into my attic and found this old painting, a landscape I did when I was 17. It’s not my best work, but it's got charm and a bit of nostalgia attached to it. Plus, the gallery people seemed impressed, and who doesn't like being praised for their art? I felt guilty afterward though, I should've stuck to my true creative path instead of choosing something safe just to make others happy.
