The Secret Coupon Hoarder

Anonymous Guilty Grinner #382 · General

Alright, so maybe I’m a little obsessed with coupons. Every time I get one of those annoying mailers stuffed in my door, I eagerly tear through them like they’re gold bars instead of expired yogurt discounts. And yes, I admit it, I’ve been known to hoard coupons just for the thrill of saving money on something I might never buy anyway. Last week at work, a customer came into our store without checking her coupon book, and there was this one amazing deal for an item we had in stock but didn’t have marked down yet. So, when she was about to pay full price, I pretended the item had already been discounted based on another sale that hadn’t officially started. She left happy with a great deal, and I felt like a sneaky hero, until my manager pointed out the discrepancy later. Oops! Now I feel just a teensy bit guilty for gaming the system, but honestly? It’s hard to regret bringing joy through savings, even if it wasn’t entirely above board.
