Missing My Old Job

I used to work as an event planner at this big conference center downtown. Every day was hectic but fulfilling. Now I stay home with my kids and manage the household, which is also hectic but in a totally different way. Sometimes, when I'm folding laundry or prepping dinner for what seems like the thousandth time, I catch myself thinking about booking hotels and coordinating speakers. It's funny how these two lives can feel so separate from each other. I wonder sometimes if my old self ever thinks of me as just 'the mom,' or if she remembers those wild days with fondness too. Maybe we'll meet up someday over coffee, the event planner and the stay-at-home parent, and reminisce about our past life.
