Oopsie in the Break Room

I started my new job last week and everything seemed so perfect. I had imagined myself as a confident professional walking around with a stack of files and my head held high, but reality is different from dreams, right? So there I was today, grabbing some water from the communal fridge when it happened, I accidentally spilled someone else's drink all over their lunch bag. It was packed neatly on a shelf next to mine, and as clumsy as ever, I knocked it off in my rush to get back to work after grabbing my bottle of water. The sandwich looked soggy and the chips were wet, like they decided to take a dip in some milk or something. And here's the kicker, I didn't even notice until later when I went to put my stuff away and saw the mess on the floor. When I told my colleague about it, he just shrugged and said it happens sometimes, but I couldn't shake off that feeling of being careless and uncaring. It’s been bugging me all day, wondering if this was their lunch for today or tomorrow, and whether they will even eat it now. Sometimes I feel like everyone around here is so put together except for me. Maybe I should just come clean to them and see how bad the damage really is? But then again, I’m sure they’ll think less of me...
