I Broke the Printer on My First Day

Today was my first day at the office, and I thought everything would go smoothly. But then something unexpected happened, I broke the printer. It wasn't intentional; it just seemed like a good idea at the time to try and fix it myself since no one else was around. Now, I can’t print anything until IT Support gets here tomorrow morning. This made me late for lunch too because everyone lines up by the printers, but now there’s only one working machine for dozens of people. So, did anyone ever break something on their first day? Am I really that incompetent or is this just a normal case of rookie mistakes? Should I own up to it right away and apologize, or wait until IT Support arrives tomorrow to explain what happened? I feel like everyone thinks I’m an idiot now. Any advice?
