my first day at work was a disaster

so i started this new job as an admin assistant about two weeks ago and it's been going okay but today something happened that made me feel like the biggest rookie ever. so, my boss left her laptop unlocked on her desk while she went to a meeting and i was supposed to be printing some documents for her. i thought maybe if i signed in quickly, just to check an email or two real fast, it would save us time later. i didn't mean to scroll through her stuff though, just that one quick glance. but then i saw this weird name on her favorites bar and out of curiosity clicked it. turns out it was her secret account for a video game guild she's in with some coworkers. i tried to back out immediately when i realized what happened, swearing up and down i wouldn't tell anyone or take any screenshots. then later during lunch break, one of my colleagues walked past my desk and noticed my screen had been active on her boss's laptop while i was at the copier, thinking maybe that could be a security breach. they asked if anything weird came up and without thinking, before i knew what i was saying, i started explaining why i signed in. next thing you know, everyone knows about it and my boss is fuming by the end of the day, calling me into her office to give me this huge lecture about privacy and trust. now all my coworkers are giving me these weird looks like they don't want to work with someone who goes snooping around. i've been such a mess ever since, worried i'm going to get fired or that they'll find out it was me by the security logs or something. i feel like such an idiot for getting so careless and letting my curiosity ruin everything.
