I'm Not Good at Small Talk

I work from home as a freelance graphic designer. It's been great to have flexibility and autonomy, but there's one downside that I've only recently admitted to myself. I hate small talk with other freelancers or clients in meetings. The moment someone asks me how my weekend was or what my favorite hobby is, I get this sudden urge to hide under my desk until the call ends. It's like I'm constantly on alert, waiting for the perfect conversational segue that never comes. At times, it feels like everyone else just breezes through these interactions with ease while I fumble and ramble. My only solace is knowing that at least no one can see how awkward and nervous I am when I try to chat during breaks or casual meetings.
