new job drama

so i start my new job and on day one the boss comes up to me and says that someone stole his lunch from the fridge. he looks at me and i can tell it’s obvious that it’s me cause everyone thinks i’m some kind of thief since i had a weird situation with my last place but like, i didn’t steal anyone’s food there, okay? so this guy is all up in my face about it and i’m like yeah yeah it could’ve been literally anyone else. i mean c’mon even he knows its probably his dumb coworker or maybe someone who was visiting, right? i was just new here and innocent! but instead of saying that, i got all defensive and said something snarky back, you know cause why be nice when u can just be a jerk right? it’s not like im gonna own up to some crime i didn’t do anyway. so he yells at me in front of everyone and i get really upset but still don’t admit anything because honestly, who does that? then i go home and tell my friend all about how unfair the boss was and they’re just like ‘why are you defending yourself so much if u didnt take it?’ and now im stuck feeling guilty AND pissed off at this jerk of a boss. oh well, maybe next week ill just steal his lunch back to teach him a lesson. nah just kidding lol but yeah, i feel totally justified.
