I Broke My Own Rule About Art Supplies

So here's a thing I've been struggling with lately. I'm pretty strict about not mixing my acrylic paints with watercolor papers, but the other day? Yeah, I did it. And it was all because of this new sketch I wanted to try out on that really nice watercolor paper I got last year. It seemed like such a waste to use plain old printer paper when the idea hit me while holding that gorgeous textured sheet. But you know what's worse? The idea never even worked out, and now I have this ruined piece of artwork sitting in my sketchbook, mocking me every time I look at it. Why did I break my own rules just for a fleeting moment of artistic excitement? Sometimes I wish I could be more spontaneous without feeling guilty about it.
