The Great Sneaker Heist

Last week, when I caught my teenage son sneaking out late at night again, instead of lecturing him about the dangers of being out too late and curfews, I did something different. I quietly followed him to see where he was going. Turns out, it wasn't some clandestine meet-up with friends, but a local shelter for homeless youth in need of clothing donations. He had been collecting old sneakers from under our beds for weeks, sneaking them out to give to kids who needed shoes more than they did video games or the latest fashion trends. Rather than stop him, I joined his efforts and together we've now become secret donors, dropping off clothes and supplies every weekend at midnight. Sure, it feels a bit mischievous, but if my son's heart is in the right place, who am I to interfere? It’s pretty satisfying to be part of something so positive without anyone knowing.
