A Small Deception About the News

I've always tried to keep up with current events by reading the newspaper daily. However, lately, I find myself struggling to understand some of the jargon and complex issues they cover in today's world. So, instead of admitting this struggle to my family, who might think I'm out of touch, I pretend that I didn't read it because I was too busy or needed more sleep. My grandson checks on me every day and asks if I've read the paper yet. I just shrug it off with a 'not today,' which gives me the space to enjoy my morning coffee without stressing over news articles that make no sense to me anymore.
