A Small Lie to Spare Feelings

I admit it, I told my grandson that his homemade birdhouse was the most charming piece of woodwork I've ever seen. In truth, I think half the structure is a bit wonky and frankly looks like he's never hammered in a nail before. But who am I to burst his bubble? Sometimes sparing someone’s feelings means telling little white lies, even if it feels a tad dishonest.
