Another Busy Shift Gone Awry

Today was one of those days when everything seemed to go wrong in the café. I woke up late, rushed through my morning routine, and got to work just as everyone else was starting their day off with coffee. As soon as I logged into the system, a deluge of orders flooded in from customers trying to kickstart their mornings too. I managed to juggle everything initially, making lattes, serving sandwiches, even cleaning spills. But then things started falling apart. A customer asked for a half-caf latte with almond milk and extra shots, which I didn't have enough ingredients for at the time. Instead of politely explaining that we were out of stock on one ingredient, I rushed to make it with whatever was available, resulting in a mediocre cup that wasn't up to my usual standards. To top it off, while rushing between orders, I accidentally knocked over a basket full of stirrers and napkins. The mess didn't help the already frazzled customers waiting in line. By lunchtime, I was so flustered that even talking to friends on break felt exhausting. It's days like these when you question why you ever got into serving coffee.
