Why I Stayed Up All Night Watching Cats on YouTube Instead of Studying

So yeah, last night was supposed to be total grind mode for my midterms tomorrow. Mom gave me this stern look and everything, like she can read my mind or something. But then, as if by some divine intervention, Netflix recommended a new cat channel I had never seen before. It's these cats that do all sorts of crazy things... one cat playing the piano (okay, not literally), another trying to catch a laser pointer in mid-air (missed it like five times, which was hilarious), and this one fluffy black cat that just sits around looking confused for an hour straight. Anyway, I couldn't tear myself away. Mom knocked on my door at least three times asking why the hell there were so many cat noises coming from my room. She threatened to take my phone and laptop if I didn’t start studying in like ten minutes. But honestly, it was too late, I had entered this deep rabbit hole of cat videos and no amount of lectures or threats could drag me out of it. I spent probably five hours on there. At one point I even started thinking about my midterm questions while watching the cats. Seriously, why do they always look so clueless? It’s like a little existential crisis happening in real time on screen. By 4 AM, I was still going strong but I had to admit defeat and start hitting up those flashcards. But here’s the thing: if she ever catches me watching cat videos again instead of studying, I’m just going to act all innocent and say it's research for some kind of future job or something. And honestly? I’d do it all over again if I had to. It’s not every day you get to spend a night with the internet cats.
