Drama Over A Sock Puppet

So today I used one of those sock puppets in class. Yeah, it was pretty lame and I know we're supposed to be all about the digital stuff now, but there's just something fun about having a tiny puppet friend sitting on my desk whispering jokes during math class. But then my best friend Lily totally called me out on it, saying I look like an idiot with this thing on my hand. It was just supposed to be funny and silly, not the source of the next big drama. Why do people get so serious over such a small thing? Am I really that immature for enjoying a simple joke?
