I Messed Up at the School Dance

So, this past Friday was the school dance, and I totally messed up. We had a theme that everyone should have decorated their lockers with, but I didn't do it because I forgot about it until after lunch on the same day of the event. My locker is like the one place where people would notice if you don't follow along or keep up with trends, and I just knew people were going to talk behind my back. So, being me, I felt really bad about myself for hours even before the dance began. But then I thought, what's done is done, so when I got there, I tried to act like it wasn't a big deal, laughing and dancing with friends. Still, as soon as I left and was walking home, all I could think of was how dumb I felt for not remembering something that important, even though everyone else probably forgot about the theme too after lunch time. It's just one of those moments when you wish there were rewind buttons in life.
