I Broke My Kid's New Toy by Mistake

Yesterday was a whirlwind. My daughter came home from her friend's house beaming and clutching this new toy she'd won at a fair, a delicate, hand-painted wooden bird that made such soothing sounds when you pressed its wings. I couldn't help but feel proud of her until dinner time, when in my rush to clear the table, I accidentally knocked it off the counter. The sound was heart-wrenching, and the sight left me devastated. I rushed over and picked up what was left, a pile of broken wooden pieces. My daughter hasn't noticed yet because she's at school today, but every time I pass by her toy box, I feel this deep pit in my stomach. It wasn't intentional, but now it feels like I've ruined something special to her. Should I tell her about what happened?
