When I Felt Like A Teenage Rebel In Parenting Land
Anonymous Shifty Snitch #109 · General
So yeah, my little ones are still in that sweet toddler phase where everything is an adventure and a challenge. One day, while I was trying to get the kids ready for their nap, they decided they didn't want to go to sleep at all. Instead of fighting it like most parents would, I decided to turn things around on them. I said, 'Fine, you don't want to rest? Let's play a super fun game then!' And we did - pillow fights, hide and seek around the house, building block castles that went up and fell down over and over again. It was exhausting but also kind of hilarious seeing my kids having such a ball with me in the middle of the day. Of course, they ended up falling asleep on their own pretty soon after, completely worn out from all the excitement. I felt like a sneaky rebel for turning nap time into playtime and getting them to rest anyway - plus I got some good laughs and precious memories while we were at it. And you know what? If it happens again, I might just do it again without a second thought.
