new city new me?

so i just moved to this big ol city and started a job at this trendy coffee shop, yeah like the one where you can get your coffee with foam art or whatever. i thought it would be cool and chill but turns out everyone here is super competitive about who makes the best latte art. my coworker jane always gives me these sideways glances whenever i make a good shot of espresso, and she's been bragging that her boyfriend knows one of the baristas at starbucks, so she thinks she’s better than everyone else. i tried to ignore it all and just focus on learning the ropes but last week was my busiest day ever. people were lining up for hours because this influencer guy came in to film a video about the best coffee spots in town. i had orders stacked higher than my head, but jane still managed to put herself first and take her usual lunch break. by the time she got back everyone else had left and customers were calling me every five minutes complaining. i snapped then. i overheard jane talking with our manager about how it was all my fault for not knowing what i was doing fast enough, but he actually said he thought i did pretty good that day. so when jane came out of the break room looking smug, i just kind of blurted out “you know you’re only here because of your boyfriend” in front of everyone. i’ve never been more embarrassed, and now jane won’t even talk to me but i feel like it was totally justified. am i really that bad of a person?
