I Spoke of My Grandson's Future Too Soon

Last weekend at the family gathering, I couldn't help but mention to everyone how my grandson had already secured a job offer from Google after just completing his first year of college. It wasn't entirely true; he applied and they asked him for an interview next month. But seeing the pride and admiration in their eyes felt too good to resist. Now every time I think about it, though, I feel a twinge of guilt. Did I make myself look like such a liar? I hope no one notices until after his actual acceptance.
