Nurse's Long Day Daze

I work long shifts as a nurse, and one day, while helping out with paperwork in the waiting room, I got so tired that I started nodding off... But before I could fully doze off, my eyes caught sight of an older couple watching me. They looked concerned but also kind of amused at how zoned-out I was getting. Instead of snapping back to work immediately, I just gave them a sheepish smile and a wave before continuing with my sleepy task for another hour... And then, once home, it hit me what a daydreaming mess I had been.
