Midterm Study Breaks Gone Wrong

So, I'm one of those people who swears by studying in cafes with background noise. Thing is, my brain has a weird obsession with overthinking every conversation that happens around me instead of focusing on the lecture notes piled high. Last night, I was at this cozy little cafe, headphones blaring classical music to drown out the world, or so I thought. There's this guy next to me who started talking loudly about his summer vacation plans in Italy. Immediately, my mind went from 'Integral of sine equals negative cosine' to 'What Italian cities should I visit if I ever get around to it?' And yes, somehow, by the time the server came over with a refill, I was debating whether to order cappuccino or caffe latte because one is clearly more authentic than the other. By midnight, when I finally left, all I had were coffee stains on my notes and a strong urge to buy plane tickets to Florence. So much for acing the midterm.
