Forgot My Mom's Birthday Again

So uh, yeah, I forgot my mom’s birthday again this year. It was pretty dumb of me because it’s like a huge deal to her and everything, I mean, she reminds us all the time! But then school started and there were just so many things going on. Plus I’ve been really busy with my new roommates and our big project for that one class we’re all in together. You know how it goes. But anyway, to make a long story shorter than long (because you can only stretch the truth so far), I called home last night and just said ‘hi’ and stuff, nothing weird. Mom asked if anything was going on and if I remembered today’s her birthday. So uh, I’m like, ‘oh yeah, of course,’ and then just go off about how busy I am with everything else (you know, the usual college student crap). And mom, bless her heart, was all sweet and said it was okay and that she understood. But then last night before bed, something funny happened. As I was brushing my teeth, my toothbrush fell into the sink from too much foam. And do you know what I thought about? My toothpaste. Specifically, this one weird flavor I hate but keep buying because it’s on sale and I’m cheap like that. It reminded me of how dumb I am for keeping that toothpaste around despite hating it so much, which is kinda the same as lying to mom in a way... just different kinds of not good. So yeah, all this to say, don’t forget important things or you’ll feel worse about it than buying the wrong flavor toothpaste. Also maybe buy your mom something nice next week? (Or wait till Christmas and hope she doesn't mind!)
