When I Let My Inner Child Out at Work

So uh, this happened last week. Yeah, it was a particularly rough Monday and my boss had just given us a deadline that made me feel like running back to my childhood hideout under the bed with a big teddy bear. So, after lunch, I got this uncontrollable urge to have some fun at work. You know how kids have those little toys in their desks? The ones they sneak into school and show off to friends during free time? Well, I had an actual fidget spinner that my sister sent me for my birthday last year because she thought it would help with stress (ha! As if). So, while everyone was at a meeting, I hid it in my drawer. When they came back, I casually brought out this thing and pretended to be all cool about it like it was just a grown-up tool for productivity. But then, of course, the spinning started getting me more excited than ever before. Before you knew it, I had all these colorful little toys strewn across my desk. My colleague Sarah walked by and gave me this look that said 'what are you doing?!' but she couldn't help but smile a bit when she saw them all out. It was like suddenly the office felt less corporate and more like a room full of kids who needed to let loose. Now, I know it's not exactly what an adult is supposed to do in their professional environment, but honestly? I think we could all use a little more playfulness sometimes.
