That One Time I Flipped the Script on Customer Service
Anonymous Nosy Flirt #940 · General
So there was this one day at work when an elderly customer came in and seemed a bit frazzled. She wanted to buy something, but she couldn't find it anywhere and started asking me every possible question about inventory and pricing. Now, normally, I would have been super helpful and gone through all the trouble of checking everything for her. But honestly? That day was just one of those days when you feel like everything is going wrong and everyone else is having a better time than you. So instead of digging deep into our systems, I did something pretty petty, I made up an inventory error just to speed things along and get her what she wanted faster. Of course, it felt good at the moment to avoid a headache, but looking back, it wasn't exactly honest or helpful. And here's the kicker: turns out we were actually out of stock on that item anyway! So I guess I kind of did what I was trying to fake in the first place, skip to the chase and just tell her straight up if she needs to go elsewhere for her purchase. But hey, at least it’s a funny story now!
