I Totally Pulled the Prank I Always Wanted To

So here's something that happened last week. You know those little sticky notes you use for reminders or silly messages? Yeah, I had a huge stash of them at work since it's always handy to have around when some tables are super messy and need extra attention. Last night after the dinner rush died down, I was putting away supplies in our tiny stock room (which is also our storage closet) when I noticed my coworker Alex wasn't back yet from his break. I had this crazy idea that stuck with me for months, to leave a little note on everyone's shift schedule saying they were banned from the bar fridge for one week as punishment for some made-up offense like 'not cleaning their own glasses.' It seemed harmless enough, but also incredibly childish and something only a sneaky kid would do. And there I was, doing it as an adult in my late twenties, thinking this was hilarious at 11 PM on a Friday night. I knew Alex had been stressed out lately with family stuff and thought maybe pulling his chain for just a moment might make him laugh even if he was mad later. So I wrote the note (which took about ten minutes of staring at it) and stuck it on everyone's schedule, figuring when they saw it the next day in the morning meeting, it'd be my own personal punchline. Turns out the punchline was that no one actually found out who did it. There were a few snarky jokes back and forth but since everyone had been having their own weird drama going on, the prank ended up more of an 'oh well' shrug moment than the chaos I imagined in my head. By noon, all the sticky notes were gone without any real confrontation or even much discussion about them. So yeah, here's to taking risks and failing to get caught...and maybe getting a good laugh out of it too.
