i am such a drama queen

so like i'm this elementary school teacher and i totally thought my student johnny was being super nice to me one day. he had left me this big thank you card with all these heart stickers on it. felt so special, right? but then later that same week he starts telling everyone at recess how much he hates me and wants me fired. i mean, come on! how am i supposed to take a compliment after that? i was like totally blindsided by his mood swing and honestly just really hurt inside. so i called his parents up and basically told them off about it, all like 'your son is disrespectful' and stuff. felt justified at the time but now i feel bad too because they seemed genuinely shocked and apologetic. still though, can a kid be that manipulative to get back at someone? feels kinda mean tbh
