i let my kids watch too much tv

so there i was just last week trying to get some work done and the little ones were running around screaming like normal. i mean honestly what am i supposed to do, tie them up? but then one day i was just so exhausted from all of it that i decided to put on this marathon of nursery rhymes for them while i tried to finish a few things. next thing you know theyre totally calm and quiet watching their shows. now every time they start getting out of hand or i need a break, i just throw on another episode. sometimes its even me asking for it when im trying to make dinner or take a shower. but like today my oldest was crying because hes missed playing with his friends outside all week long, and i just felt so guilty about it. ive always wanted them to have this wonderful childhood full of imagination and outdoor fun, but now its just screens everywhere. i know its not healthy for them, and its eating away at me inside. oh well.
