the time i let them stay out too late

i know im not supposed to do this but last weekend when my teens wanted to go see a movie at midnight i said no way its way past curfew and they gotta be up for school. but then they went and asked uncle jason if he could take them and i kinda panicked thinking what if the police saw em driving around so late? and honestly i was feeling like maybe they were right, it would be a fun night with friends before all that end of year stress. so in the heat of trying to figure out what to do i lied and told uncle jason that they could stay out as long as he kept an eye on them which is true in a way cuz im trusting him to look after them. i felt bad afterwards but it was too late, they were already gone. now here comes the tricky part where my friends online would say im the asshole for letting them break the rules, but honestly id rather see em have some fun once in a while than be stuck at home all night. i know its not the ideal parenting decision but sometimes you gotta make choices when youre stressed and unsure.
