White Lie at Work

I'll admit it, I've told a small white lie to cover my tracks once or twice. It wasn't anything major like misreporting patient data, but more of the everyday kind that nurses might use in a pinch. For instance, I was running late for work one day because my car battery died on me and I had to take the bus instead. By the time I arrived at the hospital, several patients were waiting for me, and my shift already started without me. Knowing how hectic things could get, I fibbed about having been there earlier to check emails or run an errand for a colleague. It felt like a small compromise at the moment to avoid admitting I was behind schedule due to personal issues. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to be more punctual in the future.
