Baking Isn't My Forte

I started baking cookies last week after watching a bunch of YouTube tutorials. I thought it would be easy and fun, but boy was I wrong. My oven's temperature knob is really temperamental and it's like trying to hit a moving target. Plus, my cookie dough keeps tasting salty no matter what I do. Today, I accidentally used baking soda instead of baking powder in the recipe for chocolate chip cookies. They ended up super flat and more bitter than sweet. I'm not sure if I'll try again anytime soon, but at least now I know it's definitely a learning process.
