I Broke My Mom's Favorite Vase On Purpose

So my mom has this vase she’s had forever. It’s not even that nice looking to me but it’s got sentimental value or something, I don’t know. She gets really protective of it and goes on about how fragile it is and to be careful around it all the time. Drives me nuts. Anyway, my room has this alcove area where there's a shelf above my desk. I wanted to put up some pictures but there wasn't enough space. One day while she was out of town for work I took that vase from her living room and moved it into my room without her knowing. Just set it up there on the top of the bookshelf, looking totally normal. When she got back, she started nagging me about being more careful with this thing. She was so worried! Telling me to be extra careful walking past it or whatever. I couldn't resist any longer. So one day when she wasn’t home, I went into my room and pretended to bump into the bookshelf by accident. Of course, that vase was right there and it fell off and shattered all over the floor. The sound of breaking glass echoed through the house and she came rushing in thinking something terrible happened. I had to play dumb and act really shocked when I saw what I did, broken pieces everywhere, shards all around. She freaked out so bad! And then me being me couldn’t help but feel just a little bit vindicated seeing her face as she ranted about how careless I was. I told her sorry but it didn't matter by that point. I still have to act like the vase falling broke my heart, all while thinking about this dumb smirk on my face when she was yelling at me and cleaning up the mess. Probably should feel guilty but honestly don’t care too much about her antique junk getting smashed up anyway.
