New Kid in Town Ramblings

Hey everyone, so I just moved to the big city of Somewhere and I’m honestly kind of overwhelmed but trying not to show it. First day at my new job was a bit of a disaster because I got all the directions mixed up and ended up at some sort of warehouse that looked like a spaceship or something. I’ve been walking around with this map app open on my phone, looking lost and probably super suspicious, which is pretty funny when I think about it. Also, there’s this coffee shop near my place that everyone seems to go in but I haven’t mustered the courage yet because I’m afraid they won’t have soy milk for my latte and then I’ll be stuck with regular milk or worse, no coffee at all! So silly, right? And today while walking home from work, this really cute guy passed me by on his bike and I thought he was going to crash into a fire hydrant but he managed to swerve around it in the nick of time. Was he looking over at me or just watching where he was going? Either way, it’s made my day feel a bit more adventurous. So here’s what I’m wondering: is everyone else as nervous and excited about their new city life as I am? And if so, do you have any tips for not being such an obvious newbie around town? Thanks!
