I Broke My First Coffee Machine

I know I should be proud of getting my first job at the coffee shop on Main Street. It’s a big step for me and everyone thinks it’s great, but there’s one thing I’m not so thrilled about sharing. On my very first day, as I was trying to impress everyone with my new barista skills, I accidentally broke our main espresso machine by over-tightening the steam wand. I couldn’t believe how quickly a simple mistake turned into this huge mess of grinding beans and pulling shots that would need to be thrown away. The manager was really understanding but it’s hard not to feel like an idiot when you’ve ruined something so important on day one. Now every time I see the backup machine, I cringe a bit thinking back on how clumsy my first week here actually was.
