Kids Are Not Little Adults

I've been a bit perplexed lately as my teenage kids seem to make decisions based on their whims rather than what's best for them. For instance, they choose to stay up late playing video games instead of getting the recommended sleep. I find myself wondering if it’s just part and parcel of being a teenager or if there is something more worrying about this behavior. Is it normal that they prioritize fun over responsibility? Should I intervene more actively, or should I let them figure things out on their own? Am I overthinking it?
