i lied about my report card

so last year in high school, i got a b- on this project that was supposed to be perfect because our science teacher wanted us to learn how to get straight a's and stuff like that. but everyone else in the class did pretty bad too cause it was really hard, so when my mom asked me about it i said i had an a. she never checked my grades online or anything though. i feel kinda dumb for fibbing because honestly the b- was still a good grade compared to most of us. but i guess maybe i just wanted her to be proud? now that i think more about it, there were other times too when i'd say i got an 80 on a quiz instead of my real score which was like lower.
