Grad School Blues

So here I am, drowning in textbooks and research papers while everyone else seems to be out living their lives. It's not that I don't want to join them; it's just that every time I look at my schedule or think about the next thesis chapter, all the fun plans go flying out of my head. Last weekend, we were supposed to have a big group dinner and then hit up this new bar downtown, but instead, I ended up in the library until midnight working on an essay for my philosophy class. And guess what? Not a single one of them texted me about it afterward. I mean, don't get me wrong, they're all great people and incredibly supportive, but sometimes it's tough to keep up with everyone when you’re stuck in grad school mode 24/7. I miss the days when we would stay out until the morning and talk about anything and everything under the sun without a care in the world. Now all I do is worry if my grades are good enough or if my research topic is too obscure. But hey, at least I have these confessions to vent about it! Maybe one day, when I'm not buried so deep in books, we'll get back to those nights out.
