My Home Office Is A Mess...

So I've been working from home for over a year now...and let's just say my desk hasn't exactly stayed pristine. It's like the junk drawer of chaos, but it's all paper and laptop cords. Every time I look at it, I think, 'I should clean this up,' but I always have something more important to do. Like that email from a client...or maybe checking Twitter one last time before getting back to work. But here's the thing...I keep putting off organizing it because there are some really old contracts and invoices mixed in with notes about fun weekend plans. Deleting or throwing out those contracts feels like signing away my income...and forgetting about those weekend plans feels like missing out on something great that I could have gone to instead. So, I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem? Am I the only one who turns into a hoarder of paperwork when it's just me and my computer all day long? How do you guys manage staying organized while still keeping everything you need...and not feeling like you're drowning in clutter? Your advice would be greatly appreciated...
