Oopsie at Work

So, I was in this big meeting the other day, and we were going through budget numbers. My boss was trying to make these cuts sound like they would save us all from some kind of financial apocalypse, but really, it's just a few bucks here or there. Anyway, as he was explaining one particular cut, I couldn't help but think about how much coffee this means less of for the next month. So what happens? In my infinite wisdom and to prove that I'm listening, I interrupt him with an enthusiastic "Wow! That's going to save us so many dollars on coffee!" Everyone just stared at me like I had grown a second head. And here I was thinking this would be the moment when everyone saw how much I care about the company's finances and understood my genius idea. Instead, I feel like everyone thinks I'm an idiot now. I wanted to dig a hole right there in that meeting room and crawl into it, but alas, coffee has once again been my downfall.
