Lost Focus During a Performance

I'm an artist, and I recently performed at a local gallery for my latest exhibit. As I stood there with my paintings on display, I suddenly got this overwhelming urge to reach out to one of my close friends. We hadn't talked in weeks because we had a disagreement over something silly, but it was weighing heavily on me. So while everyone was looking at the art and some even came up to talk to me, I found myself sneaking peeks at my phone, hoping for an incoming message or call from this friend. It felt like an eternity waiting in that gallery without being able to share how much I missed talking with them. The whole experience made me realize how sometimes personal relationships can distract us even during professional moments.
