Little White Lie at Work

Yesterday morning my friend Sarah stopped by with donuts. She left two boxes for the nurses' station, one for us, and one specifically labeled for our bosses. The boss box had a smaller selection of healthier options...I grabbed a couple chocolate ones from that box while no one was looking. I mean, come on, they were right there and nobody would know it was me. Plus, I figured if we were having donuts, might as well enjoy them, not just sample the healthy stuff! Then today Sarah asked if anyone took extras. I didn't admit anything, of course, and now every time she glances my way with a knowing smile, I get this weird mix of guilt and amusement. It's petty and it’s nothing really but...there you go. That's what happened.
