New Job Blunder - My Lunchroom Prank Goes Too Far

So here's the deal. I started this new job like two weeks ago at this office in downtown Chicago. I thought it was gonna be easy-peasy, all about sitting behind a computer and sending emails. But then they gave me these super important tasks that turn out to be just figuring out how many toilet paper rolls each employee gets monthly. Anyway, so the other day we got pizza for lunch because some client said thank you with food. I thought it would be hilarious if I hid my shoes in a box under one of the empty desks and stuck my feet out like they were missing at work. You know, because people eat here too? Yeah, turns out it wasn't funny to anyone else. The manager actually had to call security because someone reported a possible theft or something going on with the desks! I ended up staying late to explain everything, all while everyone was eating and laughing over how awkward this whole thing got. And now they're making me do some extra paperwork? Jeez. Maybe I should stick to sneaking my lunch into the office fridge without permission for pranks from here on out.
