I lied about finishing my homework

So here's the deal. My best friend Alex and I were supposed to do our history project together last weekend, but it was also a beautiful sunny day for riding bikes around town. We ended up having so much fun outside that we totally forgot about the project! When my parents checked in on me later that night, I told them I had finished it while they weren't home. They didn't seem to buy it, and now Alex is super worried because she actually did work on hers at her house. Ugh, now I have no idea how we're going to pull this off without getting caught by the teacher! But hey, I might be a little liar, but I'm also great at making up excuses.
