Hey there! So here's a thing that happened recently at my job as a barista. One of our regulars, let’s call her Sally, comes in every day and orders the same drink. She’s always so sweet and kind, but I can’t help feeling really uncomfortable around her because... she talks to me like we’re best friends or something! It's not that she's being pushy, it's just that she asks all these personal questions and makes small talk as if I’ve known her forever when really, I know practically nothing about her life. Now, I don't want to seem rude, but how do I set some boundaries without hurting Sally’s feelings? Is this something other people deal with too at their jobs?
